Job Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for the development of strategies, policies, procedures for the operation of the purchasing program for materials and services as well as incoming material programs and strategies in accordance with the company objectives. The successful candidate will:
â Assure timely and effective completion of purchasing improvement programs.
â Determine and approve proper sources of supply for most economical purchases consistent with quality and customer service standards.
â Evaluate competitive quotations, dependability and resourcefulness of suppliers in meeting requirements and approve vendor selection.
â Support project/development by selecting, approving, and qualifying the best suppliers (vendors) of particular commodities and assuring proper order quantity and delivery times of commodities from suppliers.
â Perform the technical back-up responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager by assuming responsibility for KPI measurement and productivity goals
â Visit supplier facilities and investigate cost reduction opportunities and supplier ability to meet quantity, delivery, quality and technical requirements.
â Employ cost reduction techniques with emphasis on negotiation and value analysis.
â Conduct legal and ethical business relationships with suppliers.
â Negotiate prompt corrective action to address non-conforming materials.
â Develop, communicate and implement long-term material acquisition plans including: supplier development, contracting strategies, inventory management, cost management, quality improvement, procurement systems, measurements and market access programs.
â Represent purchasing to customers (internal and external), marketing and field sales through presentations and training.
â Be the focal point for assimilating the IPaCS purchasing into the Global Supply Chain
â Supervise and provide leadership to purchasing coordinators. Skill set requirements:
â The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree preferably in supply chain management and/or logistics.
â Minimum 3 years of work experience in purchasing from a manufacturing environment.
â Supervisory experience is desirable.
â SAP experience is a plus.
