Champion management of supplier quality role in supply base self-audits.
Manage schedule, coordination, prioritization and follow-up activities for onsite supplier audits.
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality and procurement functions to achieve optimum supplier results, from initial product design through launch and mass production.
Troubleshoot and problem solve with suppliers to assure application of optimum corrective and preventative actions.
Develop and execute action plans with supply base to address opportunities based on product/system audit findings.
Support quality improvement initiatives in the supply base to assist driving improved audit performance.
Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts daily.
Generate, monitor and proactively address key performance metrics applicable to scope of work.
Drive systematic data collection process to track supplier performance.
Coordinate and monitor the fulfillment of departmental training requirements.
Produce & distribute report cards for key suppliers, as required.
Update and release SQM documentation (SOPs, etc.), as required.
Requirements:
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE
2-5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer and/or Manufacturing Quality Engineer.
Strong knowledge of quality principles.
Experience with APQP, Process Flow Mapping, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP, GD&T, and Gage R&R.
Experience with ISO13485, ISO9000, 21CFR820 requirements.
Experience with product/process and quality system audits.
Applied knowledge of statistical analysis and inspection measurement techniques.
Strong analysis and problem solving skills; lean manufacturing, six sigma and continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse groups.
Ability to foster change, promote and implement improvement.
Demonstrated flexibility in the management of changing priorities.
Strong computer skills.
Willing to travel up to approximately 25%.
Green/Black Belt certification a plus.
Quality system lead auditor certification (ASQ, RABQSA, etc.), a plus.
Healthcare/medical devices industry experience preferred.
