The Advanced Glass Technology Manager leads and establishes new product/business development activities of the Portsmouth R&D Teamnew product /business development opportunities and collaborates with Marketing and Senior Management to develop new products and sales opportunities
This position will :
Serve as a technical leader; maintain expert knowledge of current scientific literature, and state-of-the-art technologies of Thermo Fisher SSG products.
- Investigate new product/business development opportunities through research and collaboration with Marketing and key customers.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships to establish new and increased sales opportunities.
- Focus R&D Team efforts according to priorities and milestones established with Marketing and Senior Management. Coordinate training of R&D team members to enhance relevant knowledge and capabilities.
- Provide Marketing Group Support:
- Attend trade show events in support of new product introductions
- Assist in resolving customer technical issues during new product launch phase
- Facilitate conversations to pursue joint business efforts
- Responsible for continuous improvement of development process
- Coordinate the efficient transfer of product and technologies from R&D into Manufacturing.
- Execute HR management responsibilities.
