Based in FMC Corporation’s Princeton, NJ Research Center this senior level role is based in the Global Innovations Group within the Agricultural Products Division. This key Product Development role will drive cross functional/organizational product development initiatives and provide key support for the overall vision and long-term business strategy for the development of complex platforms. Partnering with the scientific and scouting team to develop technologies and deliver products to market with commercial value in the field of agriculture.

Area of Responsibilities:
-Drive and lead the scouting initiatives towards acquiring access to-technologies that will transform existing products, ensuring FMC has a differentiated and proprietary position on a constantly expanding portfolio.
-Establish, steward and monitor value propositions of proposed and existing-projects throughout the entire innovation cycle.
-Champion new-opportunities through Proof of Concept (POC) evaluation, providing clarity on why to start a new project (value proposition), what is the potential opportunity (market assessment), what needs to be done (POC milestones) and what is the shortest and most efficient way to confirm the value proposition or reject the project (“hooks and flaws”).
-Establish and drive alignment with-the Business Areas on a preferred list of Active Ingredients to be transformed by new technologies and incorporated into FMC’s portfolio, maximizing the opportunities for sustainable and profitable growth.
-Successfully integrate new products, acquired or transformed, into the Business Areas, ensuring a proper communication of the unique selling points and a fast sale ramp-up.
-Generate and lead initiatives for portfolio expansion by identifying, proposing and gaining support on opportunities for acquisitions, partnerships or licensing of technologies, products and companies.

Critical challenges:
-Partner with the Business Areas to develop and constantly improve a deep understanding of current and future customer needs.
Establish search-fields to guide scouts and drive to a high value development pipeline.
-Identify, translate and communicate value propositions to all stakeholders of development projects, including but not limited to Project Managers, Biology and Formulation Experts, Regulatory Managers, Area Development/Marketing Teams.
Identify candidate active ingredients to be incorporated into FMC’s portfolio based on-market potential, potential to be transformed through the “correction” of critical issues, strategic fit, regulatory sustainability and freedom to operate.
Build, present and gain interest of senior leadership members on-business cases for portfolio expansion.


Job Requirements:
Education:
• BA/BS, MBA/MS in Business, Marketing or Agricultural Science related discipline.

Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years of business development/marketing experience, including at least 3 years of agricultural chemical industry preferred.
• Working understanding of product development processes and EPA regulations
• Experience in agricultural products marketplace. Cognizant of worldwide scope (customers and commercialization organizations).
• Expertise in the European market strongly preferred.
• Proven skills in product innovation, idea generation, design and roll out.
• History of introducing profitable new products to the market.
• Strong team building skills, with successful experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and project planning/management skills.
• Excellent communication skills; written and oral.
• Ability to work with and effectively influence all levels of management.
• Ability to drive decisions and bring conclusion to issues.
