We are seeking a D.C.-based Desktop Engineer to manage the design, implementation and support of ACDI/VOCAâs desktop environment, which includes Windows XP workstations and laptops. Responsibilities include development of desktop images with ScriptLogic, Quest Software and Symantec Ghost applications; configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software related issues; developing security, anti-virus, and disaster recovery methodologies. Applicant must have experience with Desktop Operating Systems including XP andVista, as well as Microsoft based applications such as Office 2007. Experience with Active Directory and Exchange 2007 management is highly desirable.
The individual is also responsible for acting as a technical resource to other members of the Information Technology team and as a participant cross functional project teams.Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science plus four years experience, or other related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Individuals applying for this position must be customer service oriented, understanding that they are a part of providing superior customer service to our user base domestic and internationally. This is not an entry level position, as the interested parties must be able to âhit the ground running.â The ability to install, troubleshoot, and correct software and hardware issues are paramount skills for being successful in this position.
