TEKsystems has partnered with a large government integrator to bring on a Test Engineer for an opportunity supporting a large mission critical contract located in Washington DC.
Candidate will be responsible to set up and maintains computer systems. Analyzes system faults, troubleshoots, and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems and tests software. Performs preventive maintenance on the operating systems and repairs system/environment problems. Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules. Works on problems of moderate scope and ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met. Investigates and selects methods and techniques used for obtaining solutions. May interface with vendors for trouble calls. May interact with customers and functional peer groups. Monitors performance of computing equipment; coordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules.
EDUCATION/REQUIRED SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 8 years of operating systems experience. Viewed as a well-developed technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignment. Must have Windows Systems Administration experience. Strong knowledge of networking and connectivity structure and troubleshooting. Must be able to work independently or in a team environment.
